Every autumn, the charming town of Alba in Italy’s Piedmont region becomes the epicenter of a culinary celebration: the International Alba White Truffle Fair. This renowned event attracts gourmands and travelers from around the globe, eager to experience the unique aroma and flavor of the prized white truffle, or tartufo bianco.

What Is the Alba White Truffle Fair?

Held annually from early October to early December, the International Alba White Truffle Fair is a weekend event that transforms Alba into a hub of gastronomy and culture. The centerpiece is the Alba White Truffle World Market, where visitors can purchase truffles directly from local truffle hunters (trifulau), with quality assured by an official commission. Beyond the market, the fair offers cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, wine tastings featuring regional varieties like Barolo and Barbaresco, and cultural events such as medieval reenactments and the Palio degli Asini (Donkey Race)  .
